  • The Competition is conducted in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, as amended (the CPA), and the regulations made under it.

2. THE PROMOTER

  • The promoter is Sea Harvest South Africa, with its business address at 1st Floor, Block C, Boulevard Office Park, Searle Street, Woodstock, 7925 (the Promoter).
  • The Promoter may appoint agencies, suppliers and service providers to administer the Competition, verify entries, conduct or oversee the judging process, deliver prizes, process personal information and produce or distribute content.

3. COMPETITION PERIOD

  • The Competition starts on 22 September 2026 at 00:00 and closes on 15 October 2026 at 23:59, South African Standard Time (GMT+2) (the Competition Period).
  • Entries received before or after the Competition Period will not be accepted.

4. WHO MAY ENTER

  • The Competition is open to natural persons who are 18 years or older, are lawfully resident in South Africa and are in South Africa when entering and when the Prize is awarded.
  • Juristic persons may not enter.
  • The following persons, and their spouses, life partners, business partners and immediate family members, may not enter: directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants of the Promoter; any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the Promoter; and suppliers of goods or services in connection with the Competition.
  • A person who has won a prize in a competition run by the Promoter during the three months before the Competition closes is not eligible to win a Prize in this Competition.

5. HOW TO ENTER

  • No separate entry fee applies. To qualify, the participant must use at least one Sea Harvest product to prepare the submitted dish. Any cost of obtaining the product is for the participant’s own account and the product will be sold at its normal retail price. A till slip or proof of purchase does not need to be uploaded as part of the entry.
  • During the Competition Period, a participant must visit the Say Fish competition page on seaharvest.co.za, complete all mandatory fields on the entry form, and submit a recipe and an accompanying original photo of their family or heritage fish dish made using at least one Sea Harvest product.
  • The recipe submission must identify the Sea Harvest product used and include the information requested on the entry form, which may include the dish title, ingredients, method and the family or heritage story behind the dish. The uploaded photo must show the prepared dish and comply with the file format and size requirements shown on the entry page.
  • Multiple entries are permitted, provided each entry contains a materially different family or heritage fish dish made with at least one Sea Harvest product, together with a different original photo, and is submitted separately. Duplicate or substantially identical entries may be disqualified. A participant may win only one Prize.
  • The participant must provide complete and accurate contact details. The Promoter is not responsible if it cannot contact a participant because the details supplied are incomplete, incorrect or out of date.
  • Internet access and data charges may apply and are for the participant’s own account.
  • An entry is deemed received only when it has been successfully recorded by the Promoter’s competition system. Proof of sending or attempting to submit an entry is not proof of receipt.

6. ENTRY AND CONTENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Each entry must be the participant’s own lawful submission and must accurately identify the Sea Harvest product used to make the dish. The participant warrants that they created the submitted recipe wording and photo, or otherwise have all rights, permissions and consents required to submit and license them under these Rules.
  • An entry must not infringe copyright, trade marks, privacy, publicity or any other rights; contain unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, hateful, obscene, dangerous or misleading material; promote unsafe food practices; or contain information that the participant is not entitled to make public.
  • If a submitted photo identifies any other person, the participant must have that person’s informed permission for the photo to be submitted and used as set out in these Rules. If a child appears in a photo, the participant must be the child’s parent or legal guardian or must have the informed permission of the child’s parent or legal guardian.
  • The Promoter may reject, remove or disqualify any entry that is incomplete, unclear, corrupted, fraudulent, generated or submitted through automated means, does not satisfy these Rules, or may reasonably expose the Promoter or another person to legal, safety or reputational risk.
  • The Promoter may request reasonable evidence of originality, ownership, permission or compliance. Failure to provide it within the stated time may result in disqualification.

7. PERMISSION TO USE SUBMITTED RECIPES AND PHOTOS

  • The participant retains ownership of their submitted recipe copy and photo (together, the Entry Content).
  • By submitting Entry Content, the participant grants the Promoter, its affiliates and brands (including Sea Harvest and Saldanha), and their appointed agencies and service providers, a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, store, host, edit, crop, resize, retouch, translate, adapt, combine with other material, publish, display, distribute, communicate to the public and create derivative content from the Entry Content.
  • The licence may be exercised in any media or format, whether existing now or developed later, for the Say Fish campaign and for the Promoter’s advertising, marketing, promotional, editorial, recipe, public-relations, trade, internal and brand-communication purposes. This includes websites, apps, social-media channels, paid social media, digital advertisements, emails, online recipe collections, retailer or partner channels, presentations, press material, printed material, video and other digital assets.
  • The licence begins when the entry is submitted and continues after the Competition closes. The Promoter may archive and reuse the Entry Content and may allow campaign partners, retailers, media owners and platforms to display or distribute it for the purposes described above.
  • The participant consents to reasonable editing and adaptation of the Entry Content and understands that the Promoter is not obliged to use it, publish it in full, preserve its original format or provide the participant with prior approval of each use. No licence fee, royalty or other payment is due for use under this clause. The Promoter will not intentionally represent an edited recipe as the participant’s exact original version where doing so would be materially misleading.
  • Credit is not guaranteed. Where the entry page clearly states that an entrant’s name, town or province may be displayed with the Entry Content, the participant also permits that display. Contact details and identity numbers will not be published as part of the Entry Content.
  • The participant remains responsible for their Entry Content and indemnifies the Promoter against third-party claims arising from a breach of the warranties in clauses 6.1 to 6.3, except to the extent that a claim results from the Promoter’s unlawful conduct or use outside the licence granted by these Rules.
  • Requests concerning personal information contained in Entry Content will be handled in accordance with applicable law. The Promoter may retain records required by law and is not required to recall material lawfully published before a valid request unless applicable law requires it.

8. THE PRIZES

  • There are three prizes. Each verified winner will receive one R5,000 grocery voucher (five thousand rand), for a total prize value of R15,000 (fifteen thousand rand) (each a Prize).
  • Each winner may choose either a Shoprite Group (valid at Checkers, Checkers Hyper, Shoprite, and Usave) or Pick ‘n Pay grocery voucher. The selected retailer must have participating stores that stock Sea Harvest products. Product availability varies by branch and is not guaranteed by the Promoter.
  • The voucher is subject to the issuing retailer’s terms, participating-store rules, redemption method and expiry date. Once the voucher has been ordered or issued, the winner may not change retailer.
  • The Prize is not transferable, may not be exchanged for cash and may not be awarded to a third party. Any expenditure above the voucher value, and any cost not expressly included in the Prize, is for the winner’s account.
  • If a Prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter may substitute it with a prize of equal or greater value, subject to applicable law.
  • Shoprite and Pick n Pay are prize-redemption options only and are not sponsors or administrators of the Competition unless expressly stated otherwise.

9. WINNER SELECTION AND VERIFICATION

  • Three finalists will be selected by a random audited draw from all valid entries. The draw will take place within four weeks after the Competition closes and will be overseen and certified as required by applicable law.
  • The Promoter or its authorised agent will attempt to contact each finalist by telephone and/or email using the details supplied on the entry form, within three working days after the draw.
  • A finalist is not a winner until eligibility and compliance have been verified and the Promoter has declared the finalist a winner.
  • A finalist may be required to provide valid proof of identity, proof of South African residence, the original or highest-resolution version of the submitted photo, confirmation of the Sea Harvest product used, confirmation of rights and permissions, the selected retailer, and any other information reasonably required for verification, lawful administration and Prize delivery.
  • A finalist must provide requested verification information within five business days after being contacted. If the finalist cannot be contacted after reasonable attempts over three consecutive business days, does not respond in time, is ineligible, fails verification or declines the Prize, the Prize will be forfeited and a replacement finalist may be drawn.
  • Calls may be recorded for security and verification purposes.
  • Subject to successful verification and receipt of the information needed to issue the voucher, the Prize will be delivered electronically or by another method communicated to the winner within four weeks. Any unavoidable delay will be communicated.
  • Once winners are declared, the Promoter may announce each winner’s first name, surname initial and province on seaharvest.co.za and Sea Harvest’s social-media channels as the medium through which results are made known.

10. WINNER PUBLICITY

  • The Promoter may invite a winner to be photographed, interviewed, identified in fuller detail, appear in marketing material or participate in promotional activity relating to the Competition.
  • A winner may decline any invitation under clause 10.1, including use of their image for additional winner publicity, without losing the Prize. No payment is due for publicity that a winner freely accepts unless separately agreed in writing.
  • Clause 10 does not limit the Entry Content licence in clause 7, which is granted when the participant voluntarily submits the recipe and photo as part of the entry.

11. PERSONAL INFORMATION

  • The Promoter and its authorised service providers may collect and process personal information supplied through the entry form or during verification for the purposes of administering and auditing the Competition, validating entries, contacting and verifying finalists, announcing winners, issuing Prizes, preventing fraud, responding to queries, using Entry Content as permitted by clause 7 and complying with legal obligations.
  • Personal information will be processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and the Promoter’s privacy policy available on seaharvest.co.za.
  • Information may be shared with authorised agencies, technology providers, professional advisers, auditors, voucher providers and other suppliers only to the extent reasonably required for the purposes above or where required by law. Appropriate safeguards will be used where information is processed outside South Africa.
  • Competition records will be retained for at least three years, where required under the CPA regulations, and other personal information will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary or otherwise permitted or required by law. It will then be deleted, destroyed or de-identified as appropriate.
  • Consent to receive direct marketing must be obtained separately and is not a condition of entry. A participant may opt out of direct marketing at any time.
  • Subject to applicable law, participants may request access to or correction or deletion of their personal information, or object to certain processing, by contacting social@seaharvest.co.za. Some information may need to be retained to administer the Competition, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations.

12. GENERAL

  • The Promoter is not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, incomplete, corrupted or not received because of network, device, platform, website, software or other technical failure beyond its reasonable control.
  • Any attempt to manipulate the entry process or draw, submit false information, impersonate another person, use automated or bulk-entry methods, or otherwise breach these Rules may result in immediate disqualification and any other lawful action.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter and its directors, employees, agents and suppliers are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from participation in the Competition, use of Entry Content in accordance with these Rules, or acceptance or use of a Prize. Nothing in these Rules excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
  • If circumstances beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control materially affect the fair or safe running of the Competition, the Promoter may reasonably amend, suspend, postpone or cancel it, or amend the Competition Period or Prize, subject to applicable law. Notice of any material change will be posted on seaharvest.co.za.
  • The Promoter will interpret and apply these Rules reasonably. Any dispute will first be considered by the Promoter, but nothing in these Rules prevents a participant from exercising rights or remedies available under the CPA or any other applicable law.
  • If any clause is found to be invalid or unenforceable, it will be severed or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining clauses will continue in effect.
  • The Competition is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X or any other social-media platform. Participants provide their information to the Promoter and not to those platforms.
  • These Rules are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

13. RULES AND QUERIES

A free copy of these Rules is available on the Sea Harvest website during the Competition Period and thereafter for the period required by law. A copy may also be requested from the Promoter.

Competition queries may be emailed to social@seaharvest.co.za.
